Can an employer reject an employee's resignation Malaysia?

Last week, our software engineer handed in their resignation letter to me (I am the HR). I informed this to my boss, but he asked me to reject the resignation. Can an employer really reject an employee's resignation? What do other companies do?

No. Employees have the right to resign whenever they want. They can do this by giving notice or by paying the employer instead. Employers can't stop employees from quitting their job—it's against the law.
