Can an employer reject medical leave in Malaysia?

Usually, both the manager and HR need to approve medical leave in our company. In the first stage, I noticed the manager already rejected his medical leave. According to Malaysian labor law, can employers reject medical leave?

some boss said that, medical leaves cannot be allowed unless hospitalisation, in order to show a good healthy company image!? is this lawful? what can the employee do? or just accept this ridiculous concept??

According to Malaysian labor law, employers cannot unreasonably reject medical leave requests. The Employment Act of 1955 acknowledges that employees may need medical leave for health reasons, and it's the employer's duty to support them with necessary accommodations.
